The HaMoshia Kindergarten Cluster in Tel Aviv’s Hatikva neighborhood is located on a compact 2.2 dunam urban site and accommodates 16 kindergarten classrooms. The project responds to the need for early childhood facilities within a dense urban environment. Situated between HaYarden School and Gan Hatikva, the complex was conceived as a sheltered, garden-like setting, buffered from the surrounding city and closely connected to the adjacent park. To make efficient use of the limited site, the program is organized vertically within a four-story structure, an unconventional approach for early childhood education. Two buildings form distinct kindergarten clusters, with each classroom connected to its own elevated outdoor terrace. Enclosed by colorful safety and shading nets, these terraces allow children to play and learn outdoors even on the upper floors. The main entrance faces Gan Hatikva, extending the relationship between the kindergarten and the public park while creating a calmer and more welcoming arrival experience for children and parents. The result is a safe, colorful, and inviting educational environment that combines the density of an urban setting with direct access to outdoor space and greenery.
